From the Responsible Budget Coalition:
We Need a Fully Funded Budget Before July 1
Illinois cannot afford to enter a second year without a budget. The budget impasse impacts young children and their families, from child care assistance to developmental services to income supports to families to health and mental health services.
While partial funding bills get desperately needed payments to service providers and the communities they serve to provide short-term relief, they are not enough. Governor Rauner and the General Assembly must put non-budget agenda items and politics aside and pass a fully funded, year-long budget that chooses revenue before FY16 ends on June 30th. Illinois can’t wait any longer.
What can we do?
- Call your lawmaker (see contact info below). Ask them to pass a fully funded budget that chooses revenue. Illinois families and those who provide services to children and families can’t wait any longer. Click here to view a template call script.
- Call Governor Rauner toll free at 1-217-782-0244. Ask him to work together with the General Assembly to pass a responsible budget that chooses revenue now. Non-budget agenda items shouldn’t stand in the way. Click here to view a template call script.
