Oak Park Mayor Anan Abu-Taleb is hosting a community forum in the Veteran’s Room of Oak Park’s Main Library, 834 Lake St., on Dec. 13 at 7 p.m., and will be joined by Carolyn Newberry Schwartz, director of the Oak Park Collaboration for Early Childhood.

“It has been some time since we have held a community forum,” Abu-Taleb said in a press release. “I look forward to these forums as a meaningful opportunity to have a real conversation with Oak Park residents, something that is not really possible at village board meetings.”

Newberry Schwartz noted in the press release that the Collaboration works with more than 60 organizations to “ensure that every child enters kindergarten safe, healthy, eager to learn and ready to succeed.”

“The Collaboration serves an important function in our diverse community, working across all governing bodies and with parents and early learning providers to help our children learn and grow,” Abu-Taleb said.
