INTAKE COORDINATOR (up to 20 hours per week)

Position Description

The Collaboration for Early Childhood, located in Oak Park, Illinois, is seeking a part-time Intake Coordinator
to support the Collaboration’s program team. The Intake Coordinator will be the first point of contact for many
of the services and supports that the Collaboration offers in the community, and will provide a central,
consistent voice for those seeking information from or partnership with the Collaboration’s program team.
The Intake Coordinator will:

    • Respond to individual information and resource inquiries;
    • Serve as the point person for referrals from website forms and inquiries;
    • Serve as a warm line contact for families seeking early childhood programs or with questions about child
      development and early childhood community resources;
    • Engage in coordinated intake activities for publicly funded preschool;
    • Accurately complete intake screening with families and track their enrollment and service outcomes;
    • Refer individuals to the Collaboration program areas, including coordinated intake;
    • Direct individuals to appropriate community resources;
    • Support community partners making early childhood referrals;
    • Maintain and update listings in the Early Childhood Resource Directory and Developmental Referral and
      Services Directory.

The Intake Coordinator also supports the Collaboration’s equity initiative by creating access for all families
who need our services serving as the person primarily responsible for coordinated intake, the warm line
system, and follow-up to those connections.

Minimum Job Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and
      responsibilities specified.
    • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement
      may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
    • Ability to work independently and problem solve.
    • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
    • Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills.
    • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
    • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse audience.
    • Records maintenance skills.
    • Strong customer service skills.

This role is up to 20 hours a week and is not eligible for medical or leave benefits. The office is located in Oak
Park, IL and staff are currently working remotely.
