Developmental Referral and Services Directory

The information in the Developmental Referral and Services Directory is available to all, but intended primarily for use by health care professionals to support the children and families they serve.

The Collaboration for Early Childhood created its Developmental Referral and Services Directory (DRSD) to help local health care providers make successful referrals for children ages 0 to 5 years old. Previously available only in print, this resource is now available here on our website. Using the search function, or the category filters in the online DRSD, physicians can easily identify important developmental assessment information and services in the Oak Park, River Forest, and Chicagoland areas with families of children with disabilities or developmental delays – and families who have concerns about their child’s development.

In addition to service listings, physicians and health care professionals can also find helpful information about Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education, the referral process for both systems, and referral forms for use with families. It is our goal that when a family has a concern about their child’s development, their primary care physician can provide them with clear information, and assist them with next steps to support their child’s healthy development and seek out early intervention, early childhood special education and other support services if needed.

The earlier we as a community are able to intervene to address developmental concerns, disabilities and/or developmental delays in our little ones, the better we are able to minimize children’s challenges and maximize their success.
