Maternal Health & Home Visiting Support
Parenting doesn’t come with instructions. Fortunately Oak Park and River Forest are committed to your success as a parent!
For families that require a little extra support, the Collaboration, in partnership with home visiting programs and the Village of Oak Park’s Public Health Nurse, work together to make sure families can get connected to support through a single point of contact.
The Collaboration for Early Childhood contracts with Easterseals to offer the Partnering with Parents home visiting program in Oak Park and River Forest. We also work with all of the community’s home visiting programs to help get families connected to a program that is the best fit for them through the Home Visiting Task Force. This is a group comprised of a team of representatives from all local home visiting programs, who meet regularly to further streamline referral processes and share updates so that the home visiting coordinated intake process is up-to-date and efficient for families.
All home visiting programs are free, offered year-round, and use Parents as Teachers curriculum. Home visiting staff are specially trained and skilled at supporting parents in developing as caregivers.
