Parent/Caregiver Workshops

When parents and caregivers learn new parenting skills, their children benefit and so do our communities! Parents/caregivers are their children’s first and most important teacher.

The next Chicago Parent Program workshop series begins May 3, 2024! Chicago Parent Program is a completely free series of workshops to help families with children 2-5 build on their parenting strategies and skills. Our next series will be bilingual in English and Spanish and offered to families who live in Oak Park, River Forest, Bellwood, Berwyn, Broadview, Forest Park, Maywood, Melrose Park, and Stickney. Meetings will take place on Zoom every other Friday for 7 weeks with independent online courses and online support sessions in between! The series runs from May 3, 2024 to June 14, 2024.

The Chicago Parent Program is a way for parents/caregivers to be the best they can be and, in the process, promote healthy development in their children. Over the course of workshop series, parents/caregivers learn to clarify what they truly value and identify the behaviors they want to reinforce in their children. Participants in the Chicago Parent Program acquire a range of strategies and gain confidence while also meeting and learning from other parents and caregivers raising young children in the community.

Monthly Parent/Caregiver Workshops range from crash-courses in potty training, to cooking with kids. A wide variety of community partners host these workshops, which offer parents and caregivers ongoing opportunities to learn new ways to be their child’s first and most important teacher. Parent Workshops are open to all and are free. To see what workshops are coming up, view the Family Calendar on the Parenting Resource Program page, or visit our events page.
