Join Dr. Shalowitz for an interactive look at how to address children’s health challenges with out-of-the-box thinking. During our time together we will consider social determinants of health (SDOH) as part of a larger context of children’s health challenges.

While this session will be conducted virtually via Zoom, come ready to think innovatively, and engage in interactive case study exploration!

Madeleine U Shalowitz, MD, MBA, FAAP

Rush University Medical Center

Madeleine Shalowitz is a developmental and behavioral pediatrician and health services researcher with advanced training in health systems management. Her areas of research center on health equity, maternal and child health disparities and the relationships among life course stressors and health. Her focus on the social determinants of health underlie her work in quality of care, access and stakeholder engagement to improve the understanding of mechanisms of disparities and thereby to seek solutions. Most recent work includes using information from the electronic medical record to to model health trajectories.
