Physicians’ Network Event
The Collaboration launched the Physician’s Network in July 2008 to promote a stronger connection between the early childhood community and health practitioners and to increase their awareness of early childhood developmental issues and services. The Physicians’ Network meetings are held twice a year, in April and October and are organized by the Health and Development Committee, which is facilitated by the Collaboration’s Manager of Health and Development.

The State of Maternal and Early Childhood Health in Oak Park and West-Suburban Cook County (Spring 2023)
This spring session is open to all who are interested in learning about the state of mothers and babies in our community. The presentation will be given jointly by the Village of Oak Park’s Public Health Department and the Cook County Department of Public Health.

Recognizing Trauma and Related Mental Health Disorders in Young Children (Fall 2022)
Deepen understanding of trauma and related mental health disorders, and learn how to apply skills to screen and assess for these issues in young children.

Early Intervention Services Delivered through Telehealth (Spring 2022)
Early Intervention has changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Spring 2022 Physicians’ Network Event, “I Feel Like I’m Being Coached”: Family and Provider Perspectives of Early Intervention Services Delivered through Telehealth, explored this topic.

Addressing Early Childhood Health Challenges (Fall 2021)
In Horses and Zebras: An Out-of-the-Box Approach to Addressing Early Childhood Health Challenges, Dr. Shalowitz took an interactive look at how to address children’s health challenges with out-of-the-box thinking.

Health Equity in Early Childhood (Spring 2021)
In spring 2021, our presenters all focused on different aspects of health equity and what we can do to confront these systemic inequities. For this reason, the theme of the web series was Helping Every Child Thrive: Health Equity in Early Childhood.

Practical Considerations for effective Early Childhood Tele-Health Visits (Fall 2020)
Telehealth is here to stay. We need to learn to use it effectively and efficiently. By embracing change and accepting new technology we can help serve our patients and families better. Our end goal, as always, is to be better doctors.
