Public Events
The Collaboration for Early Childhood hosts a wide variety of public events and programming from within our program service areas. Family Engagement hosts the Early Childhood Resource Fair and the Child Care Meet & Greet. Early Learning hosts the annual Early Childhood Symposium. Health and Development brings together health care professionals at the biannual Physicians’ Network Event.
In addition to program-specific events, the Collaboration for Early Childhood also hosts events that bring the issues of early childhood health and education to our community as a whole.
In February of 2021, we hosted our inaugural Lifting Little Voices 2021: Planning For Change – an Early Childhood forum. This unique event is a biennial community forum, designed to bring local leaders together to discuss the importance of early childhood in policy and leadership decisions. Learn more about the panelists, guest speakers, and view a recording of the evening.
In the fall of 2019 the Collaboration for Early Childhood screened the documentary film, No Small Matter, a powerful film about early learning and early childhood education. Over 240 members of the community attended. The panel afterwards included filmmakers Danny Alpert and Rachel Pikelny along with Dr. Jackie Moore and Senator Don Harmon. John Borrero, the Executive Director of the Collaboration for Early Childhood, moderated the panel.
These public events offer our community an unprecedented opportunity for rich conversation and a re-examination of systems and assumptions in our community. The Collaboration for Early Childhood is proud to host public spaces for our community to engage in the larger conversation around the importance of the 0-5 years.
